At a May 25, 2021 meeting of Commission representatives with Asian Breeder Producers and Hatcheries it was established that the pricing of Chicks Under 2 Days Old and charges for vaccinations and other services varied between the hatcheries. No hatchery was in full compliance with Section 4. (1) of Schedule 2 to the Consolidated Order. The steps and timing necessary for the hatcheries to transition into full compliance with Schedule 2 to the Consolidated Order were discussed at the May 25 meeting. All pricing in the BC broiler hatching egg sector is required to be in compliance with the Consolidated Order of the Commission. The Commission therefore expects that once it is fully satisfied that the Hatcheries are in compliance with these pricing provisions, no further enforcement action will be necessary.
