Canadian Hatching Egg Marketing Agency (CBHEMA)

Founded in 1986 the Canadian Broiler Hatching Egg Marketing Agency (CBHEMA) represents nearly 300 farmers for British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec. CBHEMA finances its activities through levies collected from the members. The broiler hatching egg industry is a highly specialized industry that is at the foundation of Canada's chicken industry. Our members produce $200 million worth of hatching eggs supplying the hatchery sector with roughly 80% of Canada's requirements.

Canadian Poultry and Egg Processors Council (CPEPC)

CPEPC represents the interests of more than 170 Canadian poultry processors, egg processors, hatcheries and over 60 national and international industry partners.

Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA)

Promoting awareness of on-farm biosecurity practices through a national campaign called Animal Health Starts on the Farm. Canada has one of the top animal health systems in the world, due in large part to the commitment and efforts of the animal health industry. The CFIA develops national biosecurity standards, protocols and strategies for livestock, poultry and aquaculture production. We do this in collaboration with producer organizations, provincial and territorial governments, and academia. Together, we can help protect the health of Canadian livestock and maintain consumer confidence in our products by continuing to promote biosecurity on farms and at livestock facilities.

British Columbia Farm Industry Review Board (FIRB)

The British Columbia Farm Industry Review Board ("FIRB") is an administrative tribunal – a statutory appeal body with additional responsibilities for the general supervision of marketing boards and commissions ("commodity boards") – operating in the agriculture and aquaculture sectors.

Chicken Farmers of Canada

Chicken Farmers of Canada (CFC) is a national farmer-run organization and is completely funded through levies the farmers pay according to the amount of chicken marketed. The main responsibility of the CFC is to ensure that Canada's 2,800 farmers produce enough chicken to meet the needs of the market place. The system is commonly known as supply management. CFC was established in 1978 under the Farmer Products Agencies Act through an agreement of the federal government, provincial agriculture ministers and chicken farmers in member provinces.
