Unplaceable Hens: 2026 placements (July 1, 2026 - June 30, 2027) - cancellation June 30, 2027
- These are any quota hens at 120% utilization that are not placeable due to capacity constraints.
Some considerations:
a) Producers can extend, build or convert existing barns, or increase or upgrade equipment to increase bird capacity;
b) Producers can right-size their operations which may include quota sales or leasing out up to 10% of their two-year quota (effectively 20%); or
c) Producers can allow birds to expire (i.e., the Commission may redistribute the placeable hens).
Producers are encouraged to contact staff on their plans.
